This policy explains how we use personal information when UK customers browse our Shopify store, place an order, contact us or subscribe to marketing. Applicable UK data protection rights remain unaffected.

Information we collect

• Contact, account and order information: name, email, telephone number, delivery and billing addresses, account preferences, purchases, returns and support correspondence.
• Payment and transaction information: payment method, transaction status and limited payment details. Payment providers process payment credentials; we do not store full card details.
• Device and usage information: IP address, browser and device type, referral information, pages viewed and interactions, through the website and, where used, cookies or similar technologies.
• Marketing preferences and information you choose to provide, including reviews and communications.

We receive information from you, your device and service providers such as Shopify, payment providers, delivery partners and marketing or analytics services used with our store.

Why we use information and our legal bases

• Orders, delivery, accounts and returns: to perform our contract with you or take steps you request before an order.
• Accounting, tax, statutory consumer obligations and responding to lawful requests: to meet legal obligations.
• Customer enquiries, security, fraud prevention and managing legal claims: our legitimate interests in operating a secure business, helping customers and protecting rights, balanced against your rights.
• Marketing, advertising measurement and non-essential tracking: consent where the law requires it. Where another lawful basis is permitted for a particular communication or activity, we rely on that basis subject to applicable safeguards and your right to object. You can withdraw consent or object to direct marketing at any time.

Where consent is required, withdrawing it does not affect processing that was lawful before withdrawal. Information needed to fulfil an order or comply with legal obligations may still need to be retained.

Cookies and marketing choices

We use technologies needed for the store and checkout to work. Non-essential analytics and advertising technologies are subject to the choices and consent required by applicable law. Use the website's cookie preferences to review or change available choices. You can also control cookies through your browser, although disabling essential features may affect the store.

Unsubscribe from marketing emails using the link in an email or contact privacy@emiliaz.com. Order and service messages are separate from promotional marketing.

Who receives information

We share information needed to run the store with Shopify and service providers for payment, delivery, support, email, analytics, security and marketing. We may disclose information when required by law, to protect legal rights, or in a genuine business transfer with appropriate safeguards.

Where permitted and consistent with applicable consent choices, advertising services such as Google, Meta or TikTok may receive identifiers and event information for measurement or matching. An email address or phone number may be transformed into a hashed identifier before sharing. Hashing reduces direct exposure of the original value; it is not the same as anonymisation or encryption. A platform may match a hash to information it already holds, so it can still be personal information.

Shopify and international processing

Shopify hosts our store and processes information to operate checkout, security and other services. For some processing Shopify determines its own purposes. See Shopify's privacy policy and Shopify's privacy portal.

Service providers may process information in countries outside the UK or your country of residence, including Canada and the United States. Where a restricted international transfer occurs, applicable safeguards are required, such as an adequacy decision or appropriate contractual safeguards. Retention and security

We keep information for as long as necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, including fulfilling orders, supporting customers, meeting tax and record-keeping obligations, preventing fraud and dealing with disputes. We use measures designed to protect personal information. No website or transmission method can guarantee absolute security.

Your UK data protection rights

Depending on the circumstances, you may request access, correction, erasure, restriction or portability of your personal information, object to processing, and withdraw consent. You have an absolute right to object to use of your information for direct marketing. Some rights are subject to legal exceptions; we will explain any applicable limitation when responding.

Complaints

Contact privacy@emiliaz.com if you are concerned about our use of information. You may also complain to the UK's Information Commissioner's Office (ICO). Contacting us does not remove that right. Our location in Ireland also means you may contact the Irish Data Protection Commission where appropriate.

Children, external links and updates

The store is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly seek children's personal information. Contact us if you believe it has been provided. External websites have their own privacy practices. We may update this policy as our services or legal requirements change; the date above identifies the latest version.
